When i was 15 or so and wanted a tower and tribander
for dxing my mom just flat out said NO... i was using
a HyGain 18HT vertical at the time... my dad stayed
neutral on the subject so it was up to me... what i
did was to make 'scale' drawings of what i currently
had and then what i wanted... i made the 18HT very
dominant in my drawing and the 25G and tribander not
so dominant (and a bit smaller too ;-) )... she didnt
seem to catch on and approved my new setup...

so you can always resort to somehtign like that too...
