I have used a Spear Gun (Scuba Diver's use) some years ago for putting up
Field Day antennae. Blunted the spear end and installed a rubber stopper over
the blunted section. You will need plenty of line to allow for the travel of
the spear. The blunting of the spear is essential from experience - on one
occasion it became embedded in a tree trunk !. Recovery - well that was another
story.
