Yep, bad idea. Steam pipe is designed to withstand internal pressures not to be axially loaded with forces trying to bend it. As others have stated you need specially made mast material for that, especially when considering stacking antennas. Save you money and don't cheapen your installation. Do it the right way the first time and you won't be sorry later. Trust us.
