Still, when using a tower base set in concrete the base goes through the
concrete into crushed rock or pea gravel underneath for drainage. I can
understand the need for the bottom of the tower section sticking out the
bottom of the concrete for drainage, but I would think it'd still be the
same as rebar sticking out the bottom.
Also where J-bolts are used they are inserted into the raw pour rather than
being grouted according to my ROHN catalog.
