I have an LM-470 with positive pull-down. There are
four sections. A cable runs from the bottom of the inside
center fourth section down to a pulley at the bottom center
of the base, to another pulley at the base under the drum.
The cable then goes to the drum which pulls the tower up
on one side and pulls the tower down on the other side of
the drum. The bottom of the center section has a spring
mechanism on the cable to keep the cable tight.
