I did the same when I first set it up. However, after fooling with several
cable alterations (because I could not make up my mind exactly what I
wanted) I wanted an "open" strain relief where I did not need to feed
cables through a PVC sweep.

There are lots of ways to provide strain relief for a relatively small
tower!
