Carl,
I suppose that I could replace the mast with a climbable mast, but I don't
like the idea of hanging the breeze!
As you said, I'm getting too old for this!
Besides, I have other choices for placing antennas in the air that at more
maintainable!
One is a tiltover crankup that is basically a reinforced Alumna T-140 and
the other is a rotatable 3.5" mast (1/4" wall) right through my shack roof.
So we'll see!

Ive seen steps marketed so you can climb the mast!
The highest Ive climbed my masts is about 8-9'. It was secure but a damned
funny feeling.
The top 2M yagi (an old Crashcraft 4218XL) on my 100' tower needs to come
down for maintenence. Climb 10-12' or do it the hard way? Decisions
decisions. Im getting too old for this crap!
