They are great in all respects but one: They are steel and should not
have inductors in them unless you find a really large one that you can
space the inductors far from the sides. I wouldn't use the one you
describe. UV-resistant plastic would be better. 

The one time I had one, I built it out of exterior grade plywood and
sealed it with silicone RTV. Waterproof even in Seattle. :-)
