There is probably not enough difference to tell.

With the tri-banders (TH-7 or KT-34/36XA) you are limited to 10, 15, and 20
so if you want 12 and 17 stay with the SteppIR.

There is a ham near Atlanta with 4 stacked KT-36XA's.
