Out here in Virginia we watch the input impedence and as we add radials it 
drops...we stop adding radials when the impedence stops dropping.... 
Verticals  ssem to be working fine...on the 40m cage it pretty much always 
out performs the 40m dipole at 65ft when working stations >2500 miles out. 
It is a subjective opinion of one operator but the results are pretty 
constant...your mileage may vary ;-)
