I for one attend Dayton to see friends who I have met over the years and
meet new ones. For me, buying something isn't the primary reason I attend.
YMMV,

Subject: [TowerTalk] Dayton pricing
A guy at Dayton was complaining about the price of our products.
I asked him where he was from, he said Virginia. I told him he spent more
for gas coming to Dayton than the price of most of our products.
I asked if he didn't come to Dayton to spend some money, just why did he
come?
Obviously, he didn't have an answer.
My rule of thumb: you need at least $1k to spend at Dayton or why go?
