Steve,
I was allowed to have the tower rated in the retracted or nested position. This
was the key to meeting the requirements as set by the Florida Building Code
with a crank-up tower.
My point was that no other tower manufacture was willing to do what Karl did
even with their tower in the retracted position. I guess that I could have had
an enginneer here locally do the calculations and prints for the other towers
if I could have obtained the needed information about the other towers and
provided that information to him/her, but I think that would have proved to be
quite costly. Karl provided this service at no cost.
I could not have done it any other way without significantly more hassle as
guyed and windmill towers are not allowed here.
