My QTH is also built on solid rock which is only a foot or two under the
soil. When I put up my two self-supporting towers (54' and 89') I dug down
to the rock surface, drilled a number of 1-3/8 X 18" holes, placed rebar in
the holes set with anchor cement for machinery mounting and then poured a
slab over the lot.

It has worked very well despite high winds on occasion. It also save me a
small fortune in concrete expense.

73, Rudy N6LF
