Slightly "off" 25 is easy to handle. If the problem is the legs are
slightly too far spread apart, a few "moderate" whacks with hammer (steel or
rubber) will bend the bottom cross rung upward slightly and will "pull" the
legs together. Too far apart? Bend the bottom cross rung down to pull them
together. After hammering, inspect the joints for any cracks and spray any
chipped galvanized. Moderate is the key word here. If you band the snot
out of them, you will get splits in the weld joint...not a good thing.
Rohn 45 and 55 may require using a car jack on the ground to spread the legs a
bit. Moderate hammering will not work on them very well.
Before erecting I always put the tower sections together on the ground and
mark one leg with tape so that the two taped pieces are easily mated in the
when putting them together on the tower.
