I hate to rain on your parade, but there are three issues you need to think
about: the first two are the BUILDING CODE and ZONING CODEs. You can't put
such a structure just anywhere these days, and you will have to have acceptable
zoning and meet the building code and you probably have no idea how difficult
that will be with a nonstandard structure. Think general zoning, height
restrictions, setback requirements, architects, engineers, soil engineers (for
the foundation that will be required). Then, have you checked out the cost of
lumber? Probably cheaper to buy a real tower. Finally, it won't be cheap to
build such a structure -- again, probably cheaper to build a tower.
