Umm, not so much. ScotchKote is for underground electrical joints.
It dries up and flakes off due to UV like lots of other substances as per
your advice.
I liked some of the previous advice. As long as you've used some
sort of antioxidant in the joint, the other non-electrical contact areas
don't really matter.
