The spacer washers that come with the rotator are about 3/16" thick - 
thicker than a
normal flat washer. I don't think it matters so much for the mast bracket. 
It does matter
if you put the rotator on a rotator shelf as a single normal washer will 
have the bottom
outside edge of the rotator dragging on the shelf .
