IMO the over rotation system on this rotor has little benefit with the
stock controller. I remove it from my HDR-300s. The benefit in
removing the over rotation is that the range of rotation can be
increased and in my case to over 540 degrees. Just make sure you have
enough coax looped around the mast to cover the new range. Here is how
I do it:

Doug

HDR - 300 ROTATION CALIBRATION

Zero 000 the digital readout - Page 17/21 point 1 and figures 2 & 9.

Hook the rotor to the control box.

Loosen the Bourns potentiometer bracket (one end) and turn the toothed
gear to read +100. Reinstall the bracket.

Reset the zero to read 000 by the zero adjustment figure 2 with no clip
leads to A & B.

Rotation indication range now -180 to 360++.

Removed:
6P plastic paddle arm and push out
6Q plastic limit switch actuator w/Allen setscrew

Does anyone on the list have information on recalibration of a HyGain
HDR-300 rotor? I am not talking about the gain/zero pots in the
controller
but a mechanical recal like one for which the manual says you have to
send
the rotor back to HyGain. I have a '300 in which the little level arm
that
actuates the micro-switches to limit rotation has broken and I do not
know
if the '300 has over-rotated.

I am also looking for another one of the platforms that couples the
rotor
shaft to the mast clamp *and* two of the mast clamp sets. Yes, I know
they
are available new but thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks!
