Hi Folks,

I read somewhere that most of the radiation from the elements occurs from
the first 1/8wave of the physical element either side of the boom.  

I've used a 40m rotating dipole for many years with great success. The
horizontal portion of the element consumes about 20ft either side of the
mast and the remaining element length is a dropping wire about 16ft long off
each end... 

My subjective opinion of one is that I can't tell the difference between
this rotating droopy-dipole and a fully horizontal dipole.
