It's really meant for the cheap, crimp connectors, but works well with 
the compression F connectors (bout 50 cents each but take a relatively 
pricey insertion tool)  which are more or less water proof or at least 
resistant. Quality adapters from the good F connectors to UHF connectors 
are hard to find. All I've seen were of the Radio Shack variety.
