Although they may start carrying them I doubt they will be a high volume
item. I was going to say they will never be cheap, but it'd be safer to
say they'll never be "inexpensive". Anything can be made cheap.

Even after a high volume market is firmly established I'd guess they
might make the $20 to $30 range and maybe even the under $20 range for
quality imports. Still hams who squabble over spending much over a buck
for UHF connectors are not going to fall into that market even if the
connectors are easily reusable. OTOH it does put them well into
competition with connectors for the larger LMR and corrugated cables but
it also points out that there is likely to always be a market for junk
connectors at swaps. Actually with a bit of shopping you can probably
find them cheaper than the regular connectors for the series of
corrugated cables at present. That does not mean they are inexpensive
unless speaking in a relative sense.

When they start competing price wise for the connectors I use on LMR-600
(and they are close) THEN I'll start purchasing them 25 at a time even
if I have to go so far as to change the chassis connectors on my amps,
tuners, and antennas.

Those that know me will notice my approach to the 7-16 DIN connectors
has changed over the last year.
