ELECTRIC MOTOR:
I'll have to go back and check my records on the motor used for the 72'
UST. This factory motor was also a Leeson but rated for 1HP @ 1750 RPM.
I had the motor rebuilt at a factory authorized shop. It worked perfect!
However, there were better (and more expensive) motors available. You
definately want a "TEFC" rated enclosure per the earlier e-mail. Here
is why... "TEFC Models: For use where exposure to water, dust and
corrosives exists."
I recommend looking at the 1HP motors used for electric gates. These
motors are designed to be used outdoors and instant reversing...

GEAR BOX:
I HIGHLY recommend people service their Hub City gear boxes and use
Mobil Gear Synthetic Oil as recommended by Hub City!
Look for Mobil SHC-630 (for colder climates) or SHC-634 (for warmer
climates)

Hub City recommends mixing the two to get the viscosity somewhere
between 90 and 140. Give them a call!
The amount of oil is approx 4 oz depending on the orientation of the
worm gear (top or bottom) so a single quart will last a lifetime. If its
been a while since you last serviced your gear box; fill, run, drian,
repeat!
