I studied the specs for the rotor to understand how much 
resistance it could tolerate and bought the least expensive 
cable that met that spec. I have a 375 ft run to a Yaesu rotor. 
What I ended up using was #14 for the 250 ft that was on the 
ground (el-cheapo house wiring cable), and some very nice 8-
conductor #18 (inexpensive at a surplus house) that went up the 
tower, doubling up on the pairs that turned the motor and using 
single conductors on the three wires to the sensing pot.
