I have wireless internet. A BBQ grill dish pointed at the provider's tower.
The wireless company told me they would be happy to plant more poles if I
wanted them. Their auger and pole planter were mounted on a Bobcat, so they
could get it into almost anywhere!

Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Utility Pole costs
Our local utility will give us poles, but the hole drilling is widely
variable. One friend had no issues, but they flatly stated they didn't do
private hole drilling when I asked. Same with the crews - some do, some
don't (but ours is a bit of a primadonna situation. Really different group).
Poles might ber free for the asking. They also show up on Craigslist often.
