Back when I put up my tower, I bought the Force 12 C3 and the EF420. I love
the C3 and have bought another since that time. The EF420 is another story.
It is very fragile and I could never get it to work. I hired a 100ft crane
and did some adjustments on it but never got it to work. (No help from the
manufacturer (not the current folks). I finally took it down and junked it,
and bought the Cushcraft XM240. It has been a champ for me. I would highly
recommend the Cushcraft antenna. Don't know about the Hygain 40 but why
take chances when the Cushcraft is such a proven commodity.

I am looking for 40 meter comparison info on the ef420/240 (44 ft elements
on 40) and the old HY Gain 402ba (late model with longer elements) or the
new HY Gain DIS72.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used both the F12 and either
of the HY Gain antennas. A direct response would be great.
