Yes I have done that on a 3 element SteppIR.  It turns a mediocre performer 
into a beam with a great pattern.
I use 4NEC2.  Could send the file I used and you could modify it for your 
purposes. The main thing you would need to know is the fixed locations of the 
existing elements.  I DID NOT take into consideration physical effects (torque, 
balance, etc) - just the electrical properties.
And for example I found that adding a passive reflector and leaving the 
original reflector extended to its original setting does not deteriorate the 
pattern.
