That is strange, I just checked the page:
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/professional_aviation_tower-headsets_500467?Open&row=2

And it says electret mic. I wonder if there are different versions?

Hi Tonno,

Check the technical data page of the HMD 46-3-6.
The mic capsule is a dynamic one with a 200 ohms transducer.

I use it on all my radios, Icom transceivers IC-751A, 765, IC-740 and Flex
SDR-1000.
With the old Icoms I need a little pre amplification to get the vox properly
working, but that is the same with other dynamic mics like my Sennheiser
MD421 or Kenwood MC80.

Yes, no problem with the headphones, 300 ohms fit well.

Thanks Peter,

I see those have also electret mic I guess. How are you using it? What
radio do you have?

Headphones are 300 ohm? So this is totally fine for any radio I guess?

If you don´t need active noise cancellation I like to suggest the
Sennheiser
HMD46 which I use.

As I am wearing glasses and having a relatively large head most other head
sets are deadly for me in a contest.
The Heil Pro headset I can endure two hours maximum.

I hope someone who knows more about headphones and mics can help me find
the answer if this headset can be used.

p.s. any other recommendations on perfect heatsets (that would not kill
the ears in 48 hours like Heil) are also very welcome.
