I had thought that also. But if you grab it with the tweezers at the
very surface of the skin, you actually prevent stuff from coming back
out (see the CDC diagram).
I was just outside looking at the vertical feeds (about 5min ago),
noticed two dog ticks on my leg. Caught them before they bit. Welcome to
antenna work in W1.
