.058" is correct. The common tip thickness is .047". I'm not sure I've
ever seen one at .03x".

Using .047" is common because of less weight, cost, and it doesn't
support another element...as stated. And yes, it DOES explain all the
broken tips, especially in windy environments!

Howdy -

I'm fixing a couple of broken F12 elements and need to know what the 
typical wall thickness is for normal aluminum antenna elements. It seems
to 
me that 0.058" is a number I've seen before but want to confirm that.
