Subject: [TowerTalk] dipole reflector and quad loop
Thanks to all who replied. The consensus is that it should work. The apex
of the quad is around 175 feet and the bottom is around 75 feet.
Two ideas/questions:
First, my gut feeling is the dipole should be at the average height of loop
around 125 feet, which will be in a slightly inverted Vee form....lots of
room to stretch out the ends. Maybe a little higher because of the Vee.
Second, should the wire be a standard dipole, insulated in the middle? Or
should it be one long wire 1/2 on one side of the Vee and half on the other
with no insulator in the middle? My guess is it won't make a difference.
