Hello Jeff:

I have tested and used both of these units. With ground mounted mono band
verticals - the performance difference between the two was not significant
on 80 meters.

As a test - we installed the DXE unit in one four square and the Comtek unit
in another other four square - so side by side near field and DX operational
measurements could be made at the exact same time.

The forward gain from the array was the same (within .1 dB near field). The
front to back null was within 2 dB, DXE vs. Comtek. The amount of power at
the dump port was within 1 dB.

Both units give excellent on air results.

Tim K3LR

Is there a general consensus on preference between the performance of the
Comtek and DX Engineering units?
