I am assuming that you have a spotter watching the antenna as it turns that
is able to exactly line up true south in both directions. It is difficult
to do since you have no idea when using the Green Heron control box what
direction the antenna is until it is calibrated. If this does not work,
perhaps something is wrong with the potentiometer or connection. The Yaeso
boot is not that water tight. FWIW, I am sure that Jeff is available on
weekends by telephone and certainly by email to assist.

Subject:[TowerTalk] Trouble getting Green Heron controller to alogn

Friends,
I have a new Green Heron RT-21 controller for use with a Yaesu G-1000dxa
rotor. I cannot get the heading shown on the controller to align with true
North on the physical antenna.
I tried following the instructions many times with failed results. Full CW
on the controller is physical antenna South and full CCW on the rotor is
physical antenna South. The RT-21 indicates South in both cases.
When the RT-21 indicates North the antenna is physically pointing at 20
degrees.
I would sincerely appreciate any RT-21 alignment tips for dummies that you
may have. I'd call Green Heron but I travel every week and am only home on
the weekends. The Yaesu controller indicated properly.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
73,
Mack
