The Fulton K2550 seems popular but is a brake winch. After about 5 years exposure the brakes on four I had on a fresh water barge failed. Covering them might help or better yet take the winch off the tilt-over mast when not in use.

My friend is installing a tilt over fixture for his HyGain HG-70D crank-up tower. He is looking for a winch for the device, one that has the' grit' to handle the weight of course but also with the 'brake' or latch that will prevent it from getting away from him when he tries to lower it. I have seen these on some other crank-ups before but never paid much attention to the brand, etc. Surely there are many with this or similar brank towers with tilt over devices out there, so perhaps someone could advise us on this. Thanks in advance. - Mike
