Awww gee - I thought HE made antenna tuners so one could present a 1:1 load
to the transmitter so one could tune up their amp into a 1:1 dummy load and
just switch over to the tuner /antenna without having to touch the amp and
avoid the endless tuning on air, esspcially on the DX freq. Some people
however never did get the message.
Hank K7HP 1. Re: RG-149: 50 ohm/70 ohm - does it matter? (Paul Christensen)4) The major issue with SWR at the transmitter is giving the transmitter a load that it is "happy" with. "Happy" means that it supplies full rated power, AND is CLEAN. Distortion rises when an amp is mismatched to its load and if it's not carefully tuned. Distortion = SPLATTER. That's why God made antenna tuners. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/towertalk |
