HI Lee:

The plates are 12 inches long - 4 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.
I purchased them from McMaster Carr. The driven element has a 1 ft piece of
solid fiberglass rod in the middle to hold the two halves together.

My two W6NL Moxons are mounted at 185 and 120 feet. They were previously
Cushcraft XM-240s. The difference in performance is amazing.

Good Luck and 73,
Tim K3LR

Thanks Tim!!!!

Yes I meant the Driven element! (Been so wrapped up in this boom mount
thing.) OK on the G10. I have some G-10 around here close to 1/4 inch
thick. (I etch a lot of G-10 for QRP projects.) Maybe I now have use for
some of this thick stuff I've never used. What size are your plates? My
stuff is around 12" x 10". I could etch the copper off of it and maybe even
double it up. But, is 12 inches long enough? (I was even thinking of
tearing down a fiberglass step ladder for it's fiberglass channel.)

Hello Lee:

You keep talking about a Director on this antenna. There is only a Driven
element and a Reflector. The W6NL Moxon is two elements. I did not use the
channel from Cushcraft to support the elements. I made G10 fiberglass plates
with stainless clamps from DXE. Direct feed with a W0IYH style bead choke.

Operation is flawless - over 5 years in the air - no problems.

Tim K3LR
