Here is the scoop on freight rates. They have published list prices, and then
they have contracts with companies that include discounts - up to about 90% off
those rates. Even when I owned a small company selling aluminum tubing and
antennas, I had a. 75% discount with Fed X Freight (world HQ in Harrison, AR,
so I know some of them well). I once had a company make a shipment to us that
was specified to go on Fed X Freight and they shipped on another carrier. A
bill that should have been about $200 was well over a thousand. Find a company
who will ship it for you using their discount and there will be big money saved.
