Don't you need to bury conduit deeper than the freeze zone? Then frost heave
shouldn't be a problem. Buried deep enough the light weight S&D PVC pipe
should be plenty strong enough. Buried deep enough sched 40 or 80 is mostly
a waste of $ unless required by inspector or some rule. I am free of all
inspections and need no permits to do anything (except put in a septic
system without a permit) but... I ALWAYS trench deeper than our frost depth,
use larger diameter PVC than required, and leave a messenger line in place
to make future cable additions easier.
Something I do virtually always and sometimes am glad to have done it is...
When using a pull rope, make it continuous, i.e. a complete loop such that
you can pull the rope forward or back. If your connection between cable
being pulled and pull rope should ever come loose you don't loose use of
your pull rope. A continuous loop allows you to stagger the start point of
multiple cables and not have a big blunt group of cables snagging on
everything. Once the first cable(s) are in place and disconnected from your
pull rope you continue to pull the other cables. Once in a while this is
handy.
Good luck to us all in the game of pulling cables through conduit.
