I recently put up a 160m inverted V and, in comparison testing, it has done 
well.  I've been using WSPR reports comparing three antennas and the V has the 
best signal so far.

The specs:
--Inverted Vee, apex at 52'
--600' horizontal loop 35-60' above ground
--inverted L, 35' vertical, a dozen quarter wave buried radials

There is, of course, variability from one time period to the next.  In the 
future I will be repeating the tests using two transmitters on the air in the 
same time period.
