Larry,

If it is RS232 you can use COM1 on the RemoteRig RRC. Also if
you have the Microbit Webswitch you can use it as a serial link
server.
I control an amplifier via the RRC COM1 ports and it works perfect.

I remotely control my Orion 2800 with a Green Heron controller. Currently
hooked up to an on-site PC which I then access with TightVNC. Simple and
effective.

When I figure out how, I will control it with my RemoteRig and skip the
local PC.

Looking for ideas to control a pair of existing M2 RC2800PX rotator units
through
the Internet. The M2 control box has a DB-9 serial connection that can
be
converted to USB with an adapter. A dedicated PC is being installed at
the remote site, so we would like to run software control through the PC
rather than serial-to-LAN servers or station control hardware devices, at
least for now.

I looked at DDUtil software but it seems that LP-Bridge may be needed to
negotiate data between the M2 controllers and DDUtil software. I¹m not
opposed to that but we¹re looking for a simple and reliable way to get
this up and running, then possibly move to a more exotic means in the
future. Anything that uses HRD in any way is absolutely not an option.
Tnx!
