I like my PRO-67C3...bought and installed 2 years ago after running a mid
70's TA-36 with the TA-40KR kit on it...for 15 years..when I got it used
....it had been in the air for almost 2 decades and still worked fine...all I
did was take the traps apart and clean em up a bit...when I bought the
PRO....I sold the TA-36 and it is still going strong...40 years later!

I bought the PRO-67 not by reading 6000 emails or 300 test reports...I
bought it because the last Mosley I had before worked very well. and stood up
to very high winds when it was loaded with a half inch of ice and still put
out a signal...a good one as far as I am concerned...I know of other types
of beams that failed after a short time in the air in WNY and the Mosley
just sits on the tower and works...

All the testing that seems to have been done on antennas from what I have
been reading on here have been done in nice conditions...on test ranges
etc...real world situations are very different everywhere...and guys can pound
their chests on what works "best"...I know what works best for me...

I have a small lot...1 tower (Skyneedle) and bad weather conditions ...The
Mosley works here when others I don't think would stand up...year after
year after year....The PRO-67 gives me 10-40 on 1 beam on 1 tower and I have
also used it on 6m....(I have a 6m Mosley beam now...and also the 70cm
Mosley)..The SWR is fine on all bands but I need to tweak it a bit...its a bit
high on 40m...

I dont like the fact the I am limited to 600w on RTTY...but that's not much
of a bother...I do OK in the contests...and it is what it is...I live with
it and have never failed at breaking a pile up...

I look at it this way....I own Harleys...and I own Mosleys...I know my HD's
will be still around in 35 years (my oldest is a 50) and I also know my
Mosley will...(but both with different owners ;o))...My Harleys may not be
the fastest out there ...but they are the best and last the longest.. I dont
buy throw away motorcycles...and I dont buy throw away antennas...(so far
no throw away rigs...I run Yaesu)

Thanks for the bandwidth..

Interesting information Jim. If I were in the market for a tribander I
would definitely buy the K7LXC report. One potential problem with
interlaced beans is that there appears to be little room for side mounting
them on a tower. I also wonder what happens when they are used in a windy
environment and the closely spaced element move around.

## heres the latest from F12. 20-15-10 all on barely a 10 ft boom.
http://www.force12inc.com/products/xr3-compact-6-element-20m-15m-10m-multi-m
ono-contest-yagi.html

## heres the latest and greatest..with booms shrunk by 30%. The old C3,
xr5
etc line up has been upgraded to the newer format.

## BTW, I see n6bt wrote an entire section on trapped yagis in his
book,
array of light. . Turns out I was correct. By encasing the coils with
AL
tube, the coil Q drops down to just 20-30.
feed Z rises to close to 50 ohms..cuz of the excessive losses by the high
esr
of the low q coils. He mentioned that one maker of trapped verticals
used a
ceramic core to wind the coils on,
so it would handle the extreme temps.

## He also mentioned about HF yagis using the T match...and the 200:50 ohm
coax balun. Several of them had the main lobe canted off to one side by
20
degs ! The fix was to replace the T
match with a conventional hairpin setup. He did not mention the brand, but
I
suspect it was telrex... the only co I know of that used a T match. Why
the
lobe ended up skewed 20 degs to one
side is beyond me. He mentions fixing several of them.
