Benny,
The only time I had to rig a gin pole to a HDBX, I took a short length of
2" pipe (maybe 3' long) and welded 2 "L" shaped hooks made from 3/8" or
1/2" rod to the pipe, spaced so they just fit the x-brace spacing of the
sections I was working on. Imagine an L with a 2" leg parallel to the pipe
and the short leg (maybe 1/2" long welded to the pipe, with the long leg
pointing down. If you get the spacing right, this pipe assembly just hooks
into the Vees formed by 2 of the x-braces and the tower leg. I then clamped
the Rohn gin pole clamp to the pipe and finished the antenna/tower
disassembly. It was secure enough, I suppose, and there are probably better
systems, but I wasn't clever enough to think of them at the time, and I
haven't had to deal with one of those pressed-steel marvels since... ;-)
Be safe.
