Bill and the group,
I have been working on SIX meter during last 15 years and i have tried few
antennas.
My first antenna was an incredible Inv V about 10 ft high...i worked a lot
of europeans during the last huge F2 openings back in 2001 i guess.
Then i moved to a 5 floor building and i put a 2 elem quad and then i added
a director, so, i tried with a 3 elem quad also...about 15 ft above the flat
cement roof of the building.
I am working now with a 5 elem yagi, it is also low...about 30 ft above
ground.
I complete my 6m DXCC few months ago...i have 106 countries worked including
2 stations from KH6.
I hope this help.
Best wishes and good luck on 6m.

Subject: [TowerTalk] 6 meter angle arrival for DX
I'm currently doing the ground work for getting a decent sized 6 meter
setup for my new QTH in KH6.
I'll be using around a KW and have homebrewed some copycats of the old
KLM
7 Yagis for 6.
My only problem is being a rookie on 6 is I really don't know what
arrival
angles are most common for six meters for distances of greater than 2500
miles, which is the minimum distance for 99% of all contacts from KH6.
Height recommendations are pretty useless since the terrain is nowhere a
normal terrain due to the extreme drop away from the tower site. Even a
combo of 20 over 5 produces enormous gains at 1 and 2 degrees.
N6BV's terrrain analysis only provides angle info for HF. Check the
arrival angle on 10 meters for various places and then check 6
meters..about the
same, as his program wasn't meant to do VHF arrival angles in conjunction
with HFTA.
I know no number will be THE correct one, but a ball park range of the
most common angles would be a big help. I plan on giving as many USA
stations
KH6 for the WAS as I possible can. The same is true for JA and hopefully
some EU guys as well.
Any help?
