Been following this thread for what seems a long time ...
I have a big Optibeam on top of a 90' AN Wireless tower. Been up for about
8 years. Lived through several ice storms, high winds, snow and ice loading.
All the horror stories you want.
It's still there, just as new looking as the day it was hung.. 22 yards
of concrete
in base, mostly over done due to progressive errors digging the hole. BUT,
when the installer(s) said the base looked like overkill, my response
is, and
remains "My shack, with me inside is only 50 feet away."
I can't comment on other towers, had some Rohn 25 in the past, also
worked well,
but I needed a free standing tower, in my humble non- PE opinion AN
Wireless can't
be beat.
'Nuff said!
