I had no experience with CadWelds but by using a type of sparkler called a "Morning Glory" I had virtually 100% success, less a goof or two (mold set up wrong, etc.). Unlike regular sparklers, Morning Glories shoot out a straight shower of sparks, instantly igniting the powder. I taped the Morning Glories to the end of a 4 foot stick; my hands never got near the CadWeld. Cheap and easy.
