Ahh, yes RF speech processors which most users turned up too far and sounded poor. I couldn't afford one so I had to use the alternative method which was to place a stick in the waist band of my jockey shorts turning it like a tourniquet about 3-4 revolutions past pain, and shouting into the microphone through a toilet paper tube. Sounded about the same to the receiving stations.

Wasn’t the “original” DX Engineering the RF Speech processor folks from the late 1960s?

DX Engineering, Inc. was involuntary dissolved on Aug 24, 1995. The
principals were Lew Sayre, W7EW and Bill Sattler N0XX. Lew has an email
address on QRZ, Bill does not. The original DX Engineering, Inc. was located
in Brownsville OR and was formed in June of 1989.

resided in Brownsville, Or. 97327

I can't remember this hams call ??

I installed few of his antennas in the late 80's early 90's The element
to boom were black some kind of plastic extrusion. similar to M2
