Why not just use the North Star (Polaris) for determining (CLOSE to) True North?WHENEVER you can view it... or, of course, the Southern Cross for those belowthe Equator (Southern Hemisphere)...... That's what I have been using for MANY years.....and then I just spot a place in my yard THROUGH my Tower to find where North is .... YMMV; but, not enough to really matter!
