The beads described earlier appear to be Fair-Rite Products P/N 2643800302.

Judging by the chart http://www.fair-rite.com/product/round-cable-emi-suppression-cores-2643800302/ the impedance of these at 3.5 MHz is in the neighborhood of 5-6 Ohm. One hundred of them would be around 500-600 Ohm. Is this enough for the purpose? Maybe. Would they be okay at the feedpoint of a dipole? Probably not.

W2DU's string of beads chokes were a good idea because their impedance was resistive in the frequency range where they would be used. The limitation was (and still is) that the largest bead made with that material (#73) is just large enough to fit coax the size of RG58.
