I love it when a plan actually works J.
Today, after doing much work on antennas, coax etc., I brought US Tower
HDX589 from near-horizontal to vertical, using a winch instead of THE
ARMSTRONG METHOD. Thanks to W7QR for his kind advice and and assistance and
pictures, and to W4ABC for his input and encouragement. The winch is a
BADLANDS 12,000 pound winch from Harbor Freight, part number 61256. The
correct mounting plate part number is 90476. The plate is mounted to the
UST's raising fixture. Diagonal brackets were fabricated to support the
weight.just in case. Pictures available.
This sure beats Mr. Armstrong hihi
