My EF-240S with the original Alumoweld loading was up for almost 20
years, and never had any trouble with the loading wires. I did not take
any special steps to prevent breaking, and they came down looking as
good as when they went up.

To my knowledge, the original loading wires on my EF240x are stainless steel.

Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] F-12 Linear Loading Wire
I am In the process of rehabbing a Force 12 Delta 240/230 beam
antenna. In the past I have rebuilt/repaired the original F-12 wires with
Aluma-weld 12GA.If my memory serves me there was a thread in the past because
of theflexingand hardening resulting in failure... another type of wire was
substituted? Coper Weld ? Galvanized fence Wire ?
I've installed many F12 antennas over the years and if memory serves me correctly, according to Tom the LL design was very sensitive to the type of wire used.
