I purchased a set of 12 18-inch anchors several years ago.  They are stored in 
a large plastic bucket, with a tool to help with installation.

These are quite rugged, and will stand up to a lot of lateral force.  I found 
they easily screw in to moist soil, but are far from easy to remove after a few 
days in service.  I had to use a 1/2 inch breaker bar and socket.  Nice time I 
plan to use an impact wrench.

Don't plan to use them in dry or rocky soil, unless you have a means to apply a 
lot of weight to the top.
